Italian Meatloaf

1 lb ground beef
1/2 onion, chopped
2-3 fresh basil leaves, chopped
2 tsp minced garlic
1 cup mushrooms, diced
1/2 cup water
dash of season salt
1 egg
2 pieces of string cheese
1 cup bread crumbs
1 jar marinara sauce
1 cup mozz. cheese for topping


mix beef, egg, onion, garlic, bread crumbs, 1/2 cup marinara sauce and water together. Form 10x8 inch flat brick with meat mixture. Top with basil, mushroons, season salt, and cheese. Roll into loaf and bake at 375 for 45 mins. Top with rest of sauce and some sreaded mozz. cheese and cook for another 10 mins. Slice and serve!
Yummy recipe, I dont remember where I got the orginal from but I have modified it a lot.
Hubby record rating of 8.5+! The pictures are not very good but the taste makes up for it - Enjoy!
